Episode 1 for Rated T - The Tacoma Film Connection, hosted by Bryant F. Hankins with special guest, Elizabeth Weaver. In this episode we look into the 1984 David Lynch movie Dune, based off the novel by Tacoma's Frank Herbert.

Frank Herbert was born in Tacoma, Washington and wrote one of the most widely known and best selling science fiction books of all time. In 1984, a movie based off the first book in the Dune series was released. It was directed by David Lynch and was widely considered a critical and commercial failure. Growing up in Tacoma did influence Frank Herbert so we take a look at how that influence showed in the movie as well as what Tacoma has done to honor Frank.
